The WAV shield will only play .wavs formatted in a certain way. We will use Audacity for this.

Recording your voice
1. Open Audacity
2. You need to record in Mono and have the microphone selected (see below)

2. Record your voice, check to see the quality is good and re-record as necessary
3. When your clip is ready - go to the left side of clip and click the down arrow (below left)
a. Set Sample format to 16-bit
4. Change the project rate - bottom left of project window - to 22050Hz (below right)

5. Next you'll export that track
6. Make sure the Save As Type is WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM
